Before the bridges were made across both the Baram River and Belait River, the only way across to and from Miri would be by ferry that operates on the Belait River connecting directly to the town. Nowadays, the Rasau bridge across the Belait River takes one to the bypass road south of the town, which connects to its neighboring town Seria, all the way to Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.
