A National Park with incredible diversity as over 1,100 tree species are dwelling within a 50 hectare plot. Many plants and insects are yet to be discovered and identified. Alluring waterfalls and bathing pools are the main attraction that are characteristic of Sarawakian Borneo jungle experiences.
The Lambir Canopy Walkway project was jointly coordinated by Abang Abdul Hamid, an Entomologist with the Forest Department of Sarawak together with the late Professor Tamiji Inoue of the Center for Ecological Research, Kyoto University. ProfessorTamiji Inoue was killed in a plane crash in Lambir Hills National Park.
On Saturday, 6th September 1997, flight BI238, a Dornier 228-212 operating for Royal Brunei Airlines leased from Merpati Intan which plied the Labuan - Bandar Seri Begawan - Miri route on a regular basis, crashed in Lambir Hills.
Measuring 1.3 km in length and 10 meters in width, this track is currently the longest go kart race track in the country, and the only one in Sarawak & Sabah, built to the international track standards for karting.
