Steamed or roasted, chicken rice is everyone's favorite lunch meal - always fulfilling and always appetizing. The chicken is steamed or roasted till smooth and tender, chopped and garnished with a sprinkle of spring onions. Comes with rice cooked in chicken stock and a tangy chilli sauce. Varieties include steamed chicken or roasted.
There are many chicken rice sellers in Miri, ask around for most recommended places to try.

Miri Handicraft Center has various traditional handicrafts and pottery on display and for sale at the center. Artwork such as paintings are also its main attraction. Visitors are welcome to know more about our local cultures and browse through the many hand-made crafts & souvenirs home. 
The Krokop Cemeteries consist of a Malay/Muslim cemetery and the Chinese cemetery right along the banks of Miri River. The cemeteries start from the Boang river bridge (connecting Miri River) to Krokop 1 roundabout alongside Miri River.
The other momentous event in 1957 was the decision made by the oil company to relinquish some 75% of the land concession in the hinterland of Sarawak after explorationary surveys had shown no indications of oil.
