Kampong Pulau Melayu is a village that is located in the Miri Peninsula across the Miri River. "Pulau Melayu" is translated as "Malay Island" which meant the peninsula.

The Tomb of Dato Permaisuri that of a legend of a beautiful princess who has settled down in Miri after a shipwreck. In recognition of her unselfish services to the local muslim community, her tomb was gazetted by the Sarawak Government to be part of the Miri heritage.
A place of interest, Tusan Beach is a beautiful beach area near Tusan about an hour's travel time from the city. Along the smooth sandy beach, coral reefs, a waterfall, several cliffsides and a defining feature; a large cliff with a arch eroded through it dubbed the "Drinking Horse".
