Miri River is the body of water that splits Miri Peninsula and the mainland Miri, flowing out to sea from inland, curving at Lutong Town. It is incorrectly marked as Sungai Baong in some online maps, while other references online confused it with Baram River.

Bekenu is a small fishing town near Miri, approximately 46 kilometres away from Miri city center. The town has a few very historical rows of shophouses dating back to the 1930s, and a fish market with the usual food centers.

St. Columba's Kindergarten one of the oldest kindergartens in Miri. Interestingly enough, the building was not built as a kindergarten, it was originally a church - the St. Columba's church - built and completed way back in 3rd September 1922.
