Desa Seri is a residential area located next to Boulevard Commercial Center and Taman Bulatan Park, developed during the late 1980s - early 1990s.
The residential area had a unique sign - a wooden 'wheel' marking the entrance of Desa Seri. The area consisted of mostly detached bungalows and semi-detached double story houses. Its close proximity with Boulevard Commercial Center (literally just across the road) makes it a very prime and highly valued housing estate.

The Miri Public Swimming Pool, open to public in the 1980s features a competition sized 50 meter length pool with diving platforms, along with the usual kiddie pool.
Miri Golf Club (MGC) / Kelab Golf Miri (KGM) is located at the Miri Peninsula.
The Miri Peninsula is a piece of land that is bordered by water on three sides but connected to mainland Miri, split in between by Miri River. 
The Atago Maru was originally built as a merchant ship in 1924, at Glasgow by Lithgows & Sons, and is one of the first diesel-engined Japanese registered ships. Sunken off the coast of Lutong in 1944.
